The correspondence between me and the Police Inspector

from: Alan Tait

to: Mark Davies
(Inspector at Dyfed-Powys Police)

Dear Mark Davies

A friend of mine placed three microphones in my house at 20 College Street, Ammanford.

The microphones can record noises and sounds that a human ear can not always hear, (sounds in the distance etc.).

I was shocked when I played them back and could a shotgun being discharged repeatedly, followed what sounds like semi automatic fire.

In one part of the recording it sounds like a shotgun i s discharged and a woman says "bastard".

My friend left the 3 microphones in the house until the batteries went flat.

They were able to make 12x5 hour recordings on each microphone.

I have started putting them recordings on YouTube.

The recording with the gunshots and semi automatic fire is at:

https://youtu.be/bPYGjmRmw9g (the link no longer works)

The recording that sounds like a shotgun with a lady saying "bastard" is at https://youtu.be/TmP6-D-YsVg (the link no longer works)

I am writing to you to ask the police to fully investigate these matters.

Please get back to me if you require further information

Best regards

Alan Tait

Mr Tait

As I said, we have not had any reports of semi-automatic gunfire or shotgun discharges in the Ammanford area recently.

The listening devices your friend has installed could well have picked up noise from miles away and in the case of semi-automatic weapons, they create substantial noise and in the absence of any further reports we will not be investigating the matter further.

Regards

Mark

Dear Mr Mark Davies

I understand and agree with you, the sounds could be travelling through a tunnel or something similar.

As I consider I reported a crime would the Police kindly get back to me with a crime reference number?

Yours sincerely

Alan D. Tait

Mr Tait

There is no evidence of a crime and Dyfed-Powys police will not be providing a crime reference number.

I will not be responding to any more e mails, if you believe a crime has taken place you need to report it via 101

Regards

Mark
